My name’s Sarah and Pam aka Fringeobsessed told me I should contact you. Right now, I’m a junior in college and I just changed my major to Performance studies with a minor in media & film. I’d love to be a screenwriter and write for TV or take a chance at acting. problem is, where i live and was raised, I never got the chance to be myself or try anything. I guess the point is, I’m not really sure what I’m asking. I know what I want, or at least what my calling is, I just don’t know the road.
Hi Sarah! College is the PERFECT time/place to explore who you truly are and try on new ideas. If you’re in performance studies, you should have some great opportunities to perform and write. The most important things to remember about yourself are – from what i can tell by your letter – that you are CURIOUS about your surroundings and you are a RISK TAKER. These two qualities will take you far in life. The proverbial “ROAD” isn’t clear to anyone, if it was, it would be jammed with traffic. Study character, especially characters who are different from yourself. Volunteer for every theater and/or film project until you are exhausted. Only when you lose yourself can you really find yourself. Break a leg and keep FalloutGirl posted!
