I’m Having a Nerdgasm!

Radiation Level:  Acid Rain 14%

Listening to:  Sweet Darlin’ by She and Him

ZOMG!

FalloutGirl’s been following the Tweets about Zooey Deschanel playing the role of Ada Lovelace in the upcoming film Enchantress of Numbers.  I’m learning all sorts of new words and phrases inspired by  Ms. Deschanel’s beauty and charm from Ms. Lovelace’s cyber-cultured admirers.

Steampunk A subgenre of speculative fiction, usually set in an anachronistic Victorian or quasi-Victorian alternate history setting.

Nerd Crush Nexus When a computer-nerd icon from Hollywood plays a computer-nerd icon from history.

ZOMG An expression for stating the obvious.

FTW! For the Win – used as an internet expression of enthusiasm.

NOM The sound of one eating or the act of one eating.

MPDG Manic pixie dream girl is a stock character in films. Film critic Nathan Rabin, who coined the term after seeing Kirsten Dunst in Elizabethtown, describes the MPDG as “that bubbly, shallow cinematic creature that exists solely in the fevered imaginations of sensitive writer-directors to teach broodingly soulful young men to embrace life and its infinite mysteries and adventures.

Palindrome A word spelled the same backwards and forwards as in “Ada“.

Fapping Masterbation?  Since when?  I guess it’s a guy thing.

Nerd Love A state of nerdy idol worship, as in: ” yeah so zooey deschanel of nerd love is going to play ada lovelace of nerd love.”

Nerdgasm As in “I’ll watch anything with Zooey. I’ll watch a f*cking documentary on the history of the toaster on Modern Marvels if she narrates.  She gives me a nerdgasm” (I think this is a good thing)

Feathers FTW!
